Eastwoodhill Arboretum is the National Arboretum of NZ encompassing over 131 hectares planted in exotic & native trees, shrubs & climber plantings. The collection was planted by Douglas Cook & is regarded as the largest, most comprehensive collection of Northern Hemisphere trees south of the equator.

GISBORNE CITY VINTAGE RAIL

The Wa165 Steam Train is retired but comes out for special steam trips and excursions between Gisborne and Muriwai. The trip encompasses some unique features such as crossing the main Gisborne airport runway - the only train ride in the Southern Hemisphere to do so!
